Radiesse is an injectable dermal filler used for smoothing out moderate to severe age lines, creases and wrinkles, as well as increasing the volume of the back of the hands, thereby eliminating signs of aging in the hands. Not only is Radiesse non-toxic and biocompatible, but it also gives long lasting results, with benefits noticeable up to two years after injection.
Who Qualifies for Radiesse Injections?
Radiesse is ideal for candidates between the ages of 35 and 60. Patients should not use Radiesse if they have a history of severe allergies, if they have a bleeding disorder, or if they are pregnant or breastfeeding. The knowledgeable staff at Shoreline Medical Spa are happy to discuss your candidacy for the treatment.
The Treatment Process
The procedure involves the use of a gel that uses calcium and phosphate ions, along with naturally occurring compounds of oxygen, hydrogen and carbon to stimulate the growth of connective tissue. Before performing the treatment, the doctor will select the optimal places for injection as well as sterilize and, occasionally, anesthetize the area being treated. Following that, the doctor determines the correct amount of Radiesse needed and then injects it beneath the dermis and subcutis layers of the skin.
Radiesse is highly effective, showing full results within a week, and the benefits generally last over a year. However, a touch up session may be necessary and can be scheduled through our staff.
