Dr. Jeffrey S. Goldblatt, MD Earns Certification by the American Board of Phlebology
Old Lyme, CT – October 14, 2009 – The American Board of Phlebology has announced that Jeffrey S. Goldblatt, MD has earned board certification in the specialty of phlebology from the American Board of Phlebology. Dr. Goldblatt, was first board certified by the ABPh in June of 2009. This is the second class of Diplomats for ABPh, which now includes an exclusive group of 412 Diplomats nationwide.
It’s with great pride that we announce this accomplishment by Dr. Goldblatt. His certification with the American Board of Phlebology is a direct reflection of hisskill, knowledge, and experience in providing quality patient care, and his continued commitment to the advancement of vein care. To become board certified is truly an accomplishment. Less than 1% of all phlebology professionals in the U.S. have earned certification from the ABPh.
To become an ABPh diplomat, an applicant must complete the requisite training or experience qualifications, meet the continuing medical education requisites, and pass a stringent certification examination. Certification periods are ten years and maintenance is dependent on the ability of the diplomat to display competency in four areas of assessment: evidence of professional standing, evidence of commitment to lifelong-learning and periodic self-assessment, evidence of cognitive expertise, evaluation of performance in practice.
Dr. Goldblatt is the founder and owner of the Shoreline Vein Clinic & Medical Spa located in Old Lyme, CT and member of the Backus Medical Staff. He is a board-certified surgeon who has performed more than 5,000 varicose vein procedures, including laser venous ablation, phlebectomy treatments and sclerotherapy.
The American Board of Phlebology (www.americaboardofphlebology.org) is an independent, non-profit organization founded in 2007 for the purpose of certifying physicians who have met a defined standard of education, training and knowledge in the field of phlebology.
